The Tillandsia caput medusa is named after the Greek Goddess Medusa because the plant resembles her hair of snakes! The leaves of the Caput Medusae are smooth and grow upward from a bulbous base. Native to Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Panama. 

Medusae may be grown in homes or offices if they are misted regularly and receive regular filtered bright light for 12 hours. They only require occasional fertilization. Like all tillandsia, these plants will die after blooming.
